Mark Twain Lake
Indian Creek Campground is located on the north side of Mark Twain Lake. Over 200 campsites plus tent sites surround the lake campground.
Mark Twain was born in Florida Missouri just south of the lake. Mark Twain is a famous writer, best known for The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. A tour of his birthplace is nearby in the Mark Twain State Park.
Spooky Walk at Indian Creek
For family campers who enjoy having Halloween fun and you are planning to camp near the Indian Creek Campground located near Monroe City, Missouri, The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), is having an annual spooky walk on Friday, October 16th and Saturday, October 17th.
The campground is located on the famous Mark Twain Lake which will be surrounded by spooks, ghosts, and scary monsters. Great for all ages especially the little ones. Young children are allowed to trick-or-treat around the campsites. Bring your flashlights and batteries to spare! There will be a small admission fee per vehicle for each night at the campground entrance. Be sure to follow all the signs to the spooky fun event.
The campsites go all out on Halloween decorations. All the campers and visitors dress out in their favorite costume. Young children can start early for the event before dark to come trick-or-treat in a less scary environment.
Ocean Lakes Campground
Ocean Lake Campgroundis another family campground located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. On Halloween weekend (check website for dates), scary fun activities such as pumpkin carving contests, campsite decorating contests, and people/pet costume contests are a huge hit occurring three weekends during the month of October.
Other campgrounds are enjoying Halloween fun this year. Look in your local newspaper and surrounding campsites for possible spooky events.
